Global warming is measured in many ways. One of the tools used to detect and measure changes in global temperatures is the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder . This instrument was launched into space on May 4, 2002, and is still operating aboard NASA's Aqua satellite. It makes highly accurate measurements of air temperature, humidity, clouds and surface temperatures.
